(Woodstock, VA) -- A Virginia school board is voting to restore Confederate names to two of its schools.

The Shenandoah County School Board had voted in 2020 to remove the names of Confederate generals "Stonewall" Jackson and Robert E. Lee from the local schools to affirm the district's commitment to an inclusive school environment.  At a meeting Thursday night, the school board voted to restore the names, saying the change was "wrongly done" and lacked public input.

Parents opposed to restoring the names say the school board should instead focus on repairing leaky roofs at the schools, and things students actually need.
