(St. Paul, MN) -- Governor Tim Walz and five other Democratic governors are calling on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax.
The request comes in response to soaring gas prices resulting from Russia's continued invasion in Ukraine. Triple-A is reporting the national average for gas prices at four-31 a gallon Thursday.
Legislation to suspend the gas tax is pending in the U.S. House and Senate.
