(Fargo, ND) -- The recently elected chair of the North Dakota Republican Party calls the party a "big tent" but says there are many factions.
"I mean we have Ronald Reagan republicans, Tea Party republicans, Rand Paul republicans. We have Billy Graham republicans and NRA republicans. It is not that simple to say that there are just two factions," said Sandi Sanford.
Sanford said division in the party at a state level is consistent with what is happening within the party at the national level.
She said she continues her efforts aimed at restoring unity in the party, and wants to restore trust and increase transparency.
Sanford made the comments while appearing on The Flag's "What's on Your Mind".
