Minnesota Governor Tim Walz among elected officials joining UAW members on picket lines

(Plymouth, MN)  --  Governor Tim Walz and other high-ranking officials are supporting Twin Cities auto workers on the picket lines.

CBS Minnesota reports the Governor, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are among the leaders seen marching with members of the United Auto Workers union outside the Stellantis facility in Plymouth today.

Speaking with striking workers, Walz called on automakers to negotiate a fair contract and get folks back to work.

This comes as the union is working to nail down a deal with the Big Three U.S. automakers.
