(Cohasset, MN) -- A northeastern Minnesota man is recovering after an icy plunge into a lake near Cohasset.

John Anderson was towing his ice house with an ATC when the ice broke, dropping everything into Brass Lake. Anderson had to be treated for hypothermia and was released from the hospital the following day. Anderson says he checked the ice on the lake before going out with his equipment.

Experts say the ice is never 100% safe, and encourage those going out on frozen lakes and streams to constantly check ice depths.
