Wintry weather a factor in hundreds of weekend crashes in Minnesota

(Fargo, ND) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting hundreds of crashes statewide due to snow and icy conditions over the weekend.  

The state patrol says 339 crashes were reported over a 24-hour period that began Saturday morning.  

Thirty-six injuries were reported.  

At least three highway deaths happened during the holiday weekend, including one crash in Dakota County Friday that led to the death of an 18-year-old from Rochester.  

A 21-year-old man also died in a rollover crash in Blue Earth County early Saturday.

A 37-year-old Alaska man died after being ejected from his vehicle in Maplewood on Saturday morning.
