(Washington, D.C.) -- Millions of people across the country are working two or more jobs, which is the highest number since the arrival of COVID-19.

Five million people across the country work one full-time job and another part-time. Two million people work two part-time jobs in addition to their full-time job. In February of 2020, an estimated 5.1% surveyed said they had multiple jobs, a figure that dropped to a low of 4% during the pandemic and has risen to 5.3% as of December of 2023.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics says 21,000 people here in North Dakota have two or more jobs. Job Service North Dakota says hiring incentives for companies could cause that number to decrease, causing those with multiple jobs to fill openings in several industries. As of October of 2023, the state had 0.3 people for each job opening employers have across North Dakota.
