South Dakota tribe bans Governor Kristi Noem from reservation

(Pierre, SD)  --  South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is now banned from a reservation in her state over comments she made about the border.

That's what Oglala Sioux Tribe President Frank Star Comes Out declared after the Republican governor's address last week about immigration.

He said it was insulting when the governor talked about a gang calling itself Ghost Dancers allegedly affiliated with border-crossing cartels running rampant on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Star Comes Out said the Ghost Dance is one of the Oglala Sioux's "most sacred ceremonies."

Noem responded over the weekend to the ban, calling it "unfortunate" and that she is still willing to work with any of South Dakota's indigenous tribes.
