Mankato man charged after his stepson injured himself in shooting

(Mankato, MN) -- A Mankato man has been charged after a November shooting injured his stepson.

29-year-old Chance McDonald is charged with negligent storage of a firearm and carrying a gun without a permit. Investigators say McDonald put a loaded gun in his car. His seven-year-old stepson found the gun in the car and shot himself in the calf.
