(Minneapolis, MN)  --  There is a new development in the case of a Minnesota state trooper accused of gunning down motorist Ricky Cobb the Second last summer.

Attorneys for trooper Ryan Londregan are asking a judge to order the release of all communications between Hennepin County prosecutors and a use-of-force expert.

Lawyers allege prosecutors stopped consulting with the expert after his opinion did not support their theory that the trooper acted criminally when he shot Cobb.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty's office denies the allegations.

Trooper Londregan faces second-degree murder, manslaughter, and first-degree assault.
