MSP sergeant urges drivers to exercise caution in wintry conditions - at least 400 highway crashes related to storm

(Fargo, ND) -- A Minnesota State Patrol sergeant says people who drive in risky winter conditions and get into accidents are also potentially putting first responders at risk.

"That's very true. It does take a number of resources, whether it's one some people perceive as a minor incident, it can turn into a big thing out here. I mean one bad thing can turn into a chain reaction when you are dealing with the amount of traffic that we do see on highways at times," said Jesse Grabow.

Jesse Grabow says there are have been at least 400 crashes on state highways during this latest storm system. At least 14 semis jackknifed. At least one person has died.
