Stanley man dies in Sunday evening dirt-bike crash

(Stanley, ND) -- A 37-year-old man from Stanley, North Dakota, died in a Sunday evening dirt bike crash.

The man was riding the bike in a field when he hit a rock and was thrown from the bike. Authorities say the driver was found shortly afterwards and that life-saving measures were performed, but he died after being transported to the Montrail County Medical Center. 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the man was not wearing a helmet.  His name hasn't been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
