(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler is commenting on the recent raucous GOP state convention, where her challenger Jim Bartlett won the party endorsement for superintendent.

"What I hear from families and community members, they want our kids to learn how to read and write and do math and be successful. They want our teachers to have safe, supportive working environments. They don't want adults fighting in education about differences and ideals," said Baesler.

Baesler points out Bartlett secured 900 votes of the roughly 1,600 registered convention delegates.

Baesler says the upcoming primary election will allow all North Dakotans to vote on the vision for education they support.
