Cooperstown man arrested after alleged physical and sexual assault

(Cooperstown, ND) --  A Cooperstown man accused of assaulting a woman in a home last week faces multiple charges.

Authorities say Richard Sutcliffe sexually assaulted the woman, dragged her by the hair, hit her, and stood on her neck.  A gun was reportedly fired at some point during the struggle, and police arrived at the home after the woman was able to call 911. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

Sutcliffe faces charges of reckless endangerment, terrorizing, and aggravated assault.
