VA Sec. Collins supports building a veterans home in Northwestern North Dakota

WASHINGTON – Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins shares his support for plans to build a new veterans home in Northwestern North Dakota.

During a hearing, Senator John Hoeven said the state has began a study and needs assessment.

“I think it’s a bipartisan issue. Our aging population is going to need this,” Collins said.

North Dakota’s only veterans home is in Lisbon.

Hoeven says 20 percent of nursing homes in North Dakota take VA reimbursements.
