The Seattle Kraken Drafted Carson Soucy From The Minnesota Wild

First Alex Tuch in 2017… Now Carson Soucy in 2021… Though Soucy may not have been a dominating force to this point in his career, it’s still a hard pill to swallow with the Seattle Kraken taking him in the expansion draft. Last season Soucy scored one goal with 16 assists for 17 total points in 50 games.

The worst part about Seattle snagging Soucy is that the Wild are now currently down four defenseman including Soucy to the expansion draft, Ryan Suter to a buyout, and Ian Cole and Brad Hunt are both unrestricted free agents. It will be interesting to see what Wild General Manager Bill Guerin does this offseason to replace these defensemen. The NHL Draft is Friday and Saturday do they take a defensemen or two then? Maybe they go after a top free agent or they could even make a blockbuster trade to fill the void of all the defensemen we’ve lost.

Regardless, I wish Soucy all the best in Seattle. Whatever happens in this weekend's draft Bill Guerin and the Wild will be busy all offseason.
