Sheyenne High School student dies following ALS battle

It is with great sadness that West Fargo Public Schools confirms the passing of student Ben Merck. Ben was a well-known and much-loved sophomore at Sheyenne High School who lost his battle with ALS this morning.

While we appreciate and understand the interest in this story due to the amazing coverage Ben has received in the weeks leading up to this, please note that West Fargo Public Schools will not be accepting requests for interviews on any topic tied to this matter.

Today, we allow the Mustang family to grieve, but also to laugh and recall the wonderful memories they have with Ben.
