The search for a missing Buchanan woman has come to an end.

That’s according to Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.

Kaiser says the body of 63-year-old Sonia Heinle was found just after 6 p.m. in the slough, relatively close to where her vehicle was found by searchers on Wednesday. He says the vehicle was approximately 30 feet away from where the body was found. The body was underwater, according to Kaiser.

He says that it ‘has been a long few days, but we are happy to be able to get some closure for the family.’

The spot where the vehicle and body was found was approximately 50 feet out from the main road.

Heinle had been missing since Sunday night.
