Heitkamp Pushing for Passage of her Bipartisan Bill to Improve the Hours of Service Regulations

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp Tuesday issued the following statement after the administration proposed changes to hours of service (HOS) regulations that negatively impact truck drivers. Heitkamp has been leading the effort to revise HOS rules and find a permanent fix to unworkable electronic logging device (ELD) regulations.

“This proposal is a step toward common sense for the truckers that our agricultural producers and others depend on to get their goods safely to their destination,” Heitkamp said. “I’ve been working on a bipartisan fix so trucking regulations make sense for rural America – and our agriculture industry in particular. As I’ve traveled the state talking to farmers and ranchers, it’s clear that fixing this issue is a top concern, so I’ll keep fighting for a permanent fix.”
