West Fargo Public Schools Career & Technical Education Programs Celebrating Five Years of Success

The Department of Career and Technical Education State supervisors and evaluators will be visiting West Fargo High School, Sheyenne High School, Cheney Middle School, and Liberty Middle School over the next two weeks to complete a 5-Year Evaluation review process as required by Perkins guidelines. In this program evaluation, evaluators will visit with staff, students, and administrators about each individual program’s strengths and challenges. The completion of the evaluation will ensure quality assurance, allow staff an opportunity for self-reflection, and the continuous improvement of the CTE programs.

West Fargo High School has vocational, now career and technical education, programs since opening in the fall of 1987. In 2014, WFPS partnered with the Cass County Career & Technical Education Center (CCCTEC) to provide career and trades courses to district high school students. Now in its fifth year, the West Fargo Career & Technical Education Department has grown to include aviation technology, diesel technology, health sciences, and information technology; these programs will soon undergo a regularly-schedule five-year evaluation.

Amongst the available eight programs of study throughout the metro via the Cass County Career & Technical Education Center (CCCTEC), West Fargo Public Schools had nearly 2,500 student participants in the 2017-2018 school year.
