Cass County Deputies Arrest One Following Incident that Started in Mapleton

Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in rural Mapleton at approximately 3:22 PM this afternoon; the suspect had left the area prior to deputies arriving on scene. 35 year-old Mathew H. Walsh was located by West Fargo Police a short time later and the responsible party fled on his motorcycle, ultimately crashing near the Sheyenne River.  Mathew was eventually taken into custody after attempting to further elude law enforcement and swimming across the Sheyenne River.  Mathew was medically cleared prior to being taken to the Cass County Jail and held on an interfering with a 911 call charge.  It is not known at this time if or what charges Mathew may face from West Fargo Police’s involvement.
