Camper Tips On I-29 During Storm

On Saturday, at shortly after 2 p.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol says two people were involved in a single vehicle property crash on I-29 in Fargo.

According to the Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chevy Silverado was pulling a 2015 Wildwood 5th Wheel Camper southbound on I-29. The driver, 66-year-old Udean Sargent of Glenwood, Minn., had reduced his speed due to poor visibility from heavy rain fall and extremely high wind gusts.

A strong wind gust overturned the camper onto the driver side on top of the 13th Avenue South overpass in Fargo. The pickup remained on its wheels with the camper still connected, blocking two lanes of traffic.

Sargent and his passenger, Brenda Sargent, age 61 of Glenwood, were not injured.

A single lane in I-29 was closed for approximately 45 minutes until the scene was cleared.
