Shannon Roers Jones disappointed over Fargo townhome "spectacle" but ready for project to move forward

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Mayoral candidate Shannon Roers Jones is talking about a townhome project involving her family business which has recently made headlines.

"Overall, the feeling is disappointment that it has had to turn into this sort of spectacle that it has. Yes, while Roers acknowledges and has from the beginning that we missed this deadline, Roers has been in constant communication with the city on how to resolve the issue," said Roers Jones.

Roers Construction and Development has filed an application for a building permit for 7 new townhomes in the Roosevelt Neighborhood, after the company failed to meet a previous contractual deadline with the city to build the homes. Roers said she is confident the company will have the homes built by the end of 2022, if the permit application receives timely approval.

Roers Jones points to supply chain issues and increased supply costs for preventing her family's business from meeting the original deadline for the project. She said the company has mitigated cost and supply issues to now move with forward with the project.
