Fargo Police and Fire Departments launch recruiting drive

(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo Police and Fire Departments are both now recruiting for their respective upcoming training academies.

"We've had a lot of interest in our academy which we've been very fortunate about. I think one thing that plays into that well is that we have a paid academy. So rather than having to pay your way through, you are going to be a City of Fargo employee upon day one of the academy, with a paycheck," said Police Training Officer Ian Kristan.

Police recruits need to be at least 21 years old and have completed at least 60 units of college credit in any area of study.

Minimum requirements for serving as a firefighter include possessing a high school diploma or GED.

More information about serving in either department can be found online at the city's website.
