(New York, NY) -- It's time to mask up again in New York.

The state just started a new mandate today as COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise. This is for all indoor public spaces, unless proof of vaccination is required. That's the case for restaurants, gyms and theaters in New York City.

The mandate will continue through January 15th and then be evaluated. Businesses found to be in violation will face a one-thousand dollar fine.
