(Washington, DC) -- Confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson start Monday.

President Biden nominated the federal judge to replace retiring liberal Justice Stephen Breyer. If confirmed by the full Senate, Jackson will be the first Black woman to ever sit on the Supreme Court.

The confirmation hearings are scheduled to run most of the week in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
