(Augusta, ME)  --  Former President Trump's legal team is appealing a ruling by the Maine Democratic Secretary of State that he is ineligible to appear on the state's GOP primary ballot.

In the appeal, filed Tuesday with Maine's Superior Court, Trump called Shenna Bellows a "biased decision maker" and claimed she didn't have the legal authority to remove him from the ballot. The Democrat-majority Colorado Supreme Court also ruled on December 19th that Trump should also be disqualified from the state's ballot.

The Supreme Court may ultimately weigh in on ballot questions across the U.S. soon.
