(St. Paul, MN) -- A number of Minnesota cities are considering local regulations on THC-infused edibles and beverages newly allowed by state law.

The new law allows Minnesotans 21 and older to buy edibles and beverages containing up to five milligrams of THC per serving and 50 milligrams per package. The products must be derived from certified hemp.

Officials in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas are studying the law and looking into regulating the cannabis products at the city level.

The League of Minnesota Cities is developing guidance for communities considering regulations.
