(Polk County, MN) -- Police say the reported abduction of a 17-year-old girl in Polk County, Minnesota was unfounded.

The girl was found by law enforcement tied up next to a road in a rural area outside of East Grand Forks earlier this week. She told deputies she was abducted and left at that location, but the sheriff's office now says her claim was unfounded.

An investigation into the incident continues.
