(Bismarck, ND)  --  A drier than normal winter has farmers concerned about drought during the growing season.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows nearly half the state in abnormally dry conditions today.

About 14-percent of the state is experiencing moderate drought and just under seven-percent is in severe drought.

Last winter there was snow on the ground every winter day.

This winter there's been an inch or more of snow just 29-percent of the days.
