(Grafton, ND) -- A live grenade was found in a Grafton scrapyard and safely detonated this week.

Taylor Lundebrek, an equipment with Russ's Auto and Scrap, found the handleless grenade in a pile of scrap metal with the pin still inside. Lundebrek brought the grenade to the business's co-owner, who called police.

The bomb squad responded, and found the grenade had live ammunition. The explosive was then taken to a landfill outside of town and safely detonated.
