2020 Fargo Invaders season canceled

The Fargo Invaders have announced their 2020 season has been canceled.

The Northern Elite Football League, which includes the Invaders, announced the news early Saturday morning. Originally, on May 2, the league had announced plans to postpone the season one month, as they evaluated any recommendations offered by the state health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“Governor Burgum and the whole state of North Dakota have been great with Smart Restart, there was hope of still having a season,” Invaders President Matt Petznick said. “Our league spans into Minnesota, with two teams in the cities that are not afforded the same opportunities for practices and games as we are here.  Ultimately, it's best for our league to follow the same steps as other leagues around the nation and begin focusing on 2021.”
