Join us in honoring Detective Josh Heller & Fargo Police Department! We Salute YOU!

Our January Luther Family Ford Salute to Law Enforcement honoree is Detective Josh Heller of the Fargo Police Department. He joins Steve Hallstrom to talk about why he chose to become an officer and what it means to be honored for his service.

Detective Josh Heller is a native of Fargo — where he graduated from Shanley High School. Heller continued his education at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, and graduated in 2015, earning an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Heller began his career with The Fargo Police Department (FPD) after graduation, serving in the Neighborhood Services Division from 2015 until 2017. In 2017, he was assigned to work in the Criminal Intelligence Unit at the FPD. While serving in this role, Heller worked closely with local, state, and federal partners disseminating crucial information while working to solve cases. In January of 2022, Heller was promoted to the rank of Detective and now serves with the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit. Recently, Detective Heller took the lead in a criminal investigation case that elevated to a large-scale federal investigation. The dedicated effort of Detective Heller and the Street Crimes Unit resulted in the seizure of thousands of fentanyl pills, several firearms, and over $100,000 of US currency. Numerous criminals were arrested for their involvement in this case, including multiple individuals who were linked to a cold case homicide that had occurred here in Fargo. Detective Heller’s hard work and continued dedication follows the department's core values of Professionalism and Guardianship. Thank you, Detective Heller, for all that you do for our community!
